Why Should You Use A Travel Agent
So many people today think that travel agents are a thing of the past. They think it’s a waste of time to use a travel agent when you have the internet and smartphone apps available to you at the touch of a finger. While this may be true, all that information is completely overwhelming and difficult to process. Now days everyone is an expert on travel, hotels, cruises, and anything else you could possibly be an expert at. Suddenly, everyone’s opinion is the only one that matters.
When you don’t use a Travel Agent, you are missing out on the opinions and recommendations of a true travel expert. Travel Agents truly have an inside scoop on the best places, experiences and deals. We work with suppliers who sell only to the travel agents. Let me give you an example; you want a room at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun. Of course you can go online and find a rate and book the room yourself. Then there is a travel agent reservation. We don’t book online, we call. If your agent is lucky enough to be associated with Virtuoso, Ensemble, or even the Stars program thru The Ritz-Carlson (Stars is for the hotel companies top producing agents), they have access to the same room as well extra perks. Extra perks you ask, YES! Extra perks like Suite upgrades, breakfast buffets included, club upgrades, Late Check Out or early check in (if available) Spa or F&B credits, to name but a few. These deals aren’t available to the public at large.
Let’s say you want to go a trip to Italy. Sure you can take the time to research and find hotels, airline tickets, rental cars, and train tickets, areas of interest, tour guides and even places to eat. Online reviews can be so confusing and working with 3d party travel websites are sometimes just a nightmare. For a minimal fee, a travel agent can provide you an itinerary based upon your budget and we always work with reputable companies, most of which have been in business for many years and are experts in their area of travel. One of my favorite suppliers in Europe uses local destination experts whom work for them and is considered an expert of that area. It’s also good as a travel agent that you have experiences for the vacations you have sell, in order to really know if that experience is right for your client. So a small fee to get a fully prepared vacation you have dreamed of, really isn’t that big of an issue, when you think about the time and energy you would have put into planning the trip, getting costs, reading reviews, making sure tours are legitimate and hotels are what you would be expecting.
I worked for many years in the hotel business as a concierge and front office manager. I know the importance of the role a travel agent plays for their clients. It was a natural progression for me to become a Travel Agent as I opened the next chapter of my career. I do travel on the side until I can build a clientele, but the hotel and hospitality world is my passion, so you are guaranteed with me as your travel agent, your vacation will be the best it can be. I believe that everyone should be able to travel, whether it’s to a nearby beach, traveling to Disney World Resort in Orlando, an All-Inclusive in the Dominican Republic, a cruise on the Mediterranean from Greece to the French Rivera, or a trip across Italy. Traveling to me is a collection of lifetime’s experiences and indelible memories that will always be with us and we will always remember the way it made us feel. A Travel Agent can plan a lifetime of memories.
